Gorgeous golden sunlight, the most perfect floral lace wedding dress, and two sweet souls vowing to spend the rest of their lives together. That is the best way I can describe Della & Patrick’s wedding!

Della and Patrick’s story actually starts years ago when they were just kids living on the West Coast. Their parents were close friends and jokingly talked about which of their children they might be able to match up to officially unite their families together. However, Della’s family ended up moving all the way across the country to the middle of Pennsylvania when she was still quite young. They actually ended up at my home parish and our families quickly became friends (my parents were guests at this wedding and it took place at the church I spent every Sunday at growing up).

Little did any of them know that years later God would bring Della & Patrick’s paths back together once they had grown up and that they would strike up a close friendship that would quickly turn into love. Their wedding was so fun because it was a huge celebration of both families reuniting and a once funny “what if” pipe dream actually coming to fruition.

Just like the last wedding I shared, Della & Patrick had to brave the cold for their portraits (although it was significantly better because there wasn’t a brutal wind). We took their portraits on the grounds of the church as the sun was beginning to set and we got the most lovely golden light streaming around them.

Their reception was held nearby at the Wisehaven Banquet Center, a fun and beautiful venue conveniently close to their church. Filled with lots of dancing, good cake, beautiful toasts, and a stunning foot-washing ceremony, it was the perfect end to their wedding day.
