You guys. This wedding. Where do I start? I think the photo above accurately depicts the sheer amount of JOY that radiated throughout this day. Ellie & Pete are highschool sweethearts and they and their families waited 8 years for this day and it was so worth the wait. I photographed Ellie’s older brother’s wedding a few years ago and it was so fun to photograph another wedding for their wonderful family!
Ellie was the most relaxed, gentle, sweet, and joyful bride. From the moment I arrived she was making sure everyone (including myself) was taken care of and her contagious smile was lighting up every room. Ellie is a beloved aunt to her many nieces and nephews and she decided to include her oldest two nieces in the room while her sisters and mom helped her get dressed. You could see on their little faces how special it was to be included in this part of the day.
After the joyful start to the day, we headed to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church for their ceremony. Again, the joy was palpable and the beauty of the sacrament was evident. Following the Mass, we went back to the venue for photos and the party. Old York Road Country Club was such a perfect venue for these two. We had GORGEOUS spots to chose from for their photos (which took place during the golden hour so win win). The country club gave us golf carts to access more of the property and we used up every last minute of sunlight ending with the perfect sunset.
The joy did not stop there, as Ellie & Pete were introduced, they were both beaming and went straight into their first dance. They chose to have a band instead of a DJ and after photographing multiple weddings with bands, I can tell you there is a noticeable difference in the atmosphere of the reception. After the parent dances and speeches, the band started playing music as dinner was being served and without any prompting, guests started filling the dance floor and there was a 20 minute dance party before anyone had even eaten dinner.
Ellie and Pete, thank you SO much for giving me the honor of photographing your wedding! I felt so blessed to be there and experience your joyful start to marraige.
Xoxo,
Mary Kate
