Erin & Chad || Rennaisance-Inspiried October Wedding

Weddings

Erin and Chad’s wedding in Defiance, OH was the sweetest day! These two share such a tender, joy-filled love, and their October wedding day overflowed with laughter, tears, and that “oh my gosh, I can’t believe it’s our wedding day” type of giddy joy.

Erin drew inspiration from Renaissance beauty for her jewel-toned color palette and attire — from the elegant gowns she and her bridesmaids wore to the matching fans she gifted each of them (which made for some very fun photos), to the gold-embossed plates & goblets that graced the head table at the reception. She clearly had a vision, and it was so fun to see it all come together!

Erin and Chad first met at Camp Lakota, where a friendship soon blossomed into something so much deeper. Since that place holds such a special place in their story, it was only fitting that they chose to do their first look and portraits on the Camp’s grounds. Chad’s emotional reaction to seeing Erin for the first time was one of the sweetest moments of the day!

Their ceremony took place at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Defiance (an absolutely beautiful church!), followed by a joyful reception that couldn’t have suited them more perfectly. Kids ran around laughing and chasing each other, tables were covered in craft paper sprinkled with crayons (to create custom masterpieces on the craft paper, of course), Ohio Buckeyes and pinecones, and lined with lanterns going down the center. (The Buckeyes quickly became the kids’ favorite “toys” of the night — they were playing with them nonstop!) Later in the evening, Erin and Chad surprised their guests with square dance instructors who led everyone through several lively dances, and it was such a hit!

Erin and Chad, thank you so much for trusting me to capture your beautiful day — it was such a joy to witness and photograph your love!

Xoxo,

Mary Kate
