Highschool sweathearts, Joelle and Matthew, had been joyfully awaiting their wedding day for a long time. However, as with all other 2020 couples, their plans hit a bump in the road when our world entered a pandemic. But they quickly changed their plans and went ahead with their smaller and different wedding with an impressive amount of grace and joy.

One of the things that they had to change last minute was their photographer. Joelle and Matthew actually reached out to me this past May about a month before their wedding and were thrilled to learn that I just happened to still have their date open.

They were able to have their ceremony and reception on their church’s property and although the forecast was predicting massive storms all day, the storms always just missed the exact area where we were. The clouds would come rolling in and we’d think that this time it was for sure going to hit and then they would just fade away and drift on past. It was actually the coolest thing.

Joelle and Matthew are two of the kindest people I’ve met. They are both so thoughtful and service-oriented and I was amazed by their kindness and generosity to everyone at their wedding. It was such a gift to get to know them and their families and document their wedding day!
