Way back near the beginning of September, I got a DM from Patrick asking if I thought it would be possible to photograph his proposal later on in the fall. Not a lot of people know this, but I have been secretly wanting to photograph a proposal for years so needless to say, I was over the moon when Patrick asked me if I was willing to do this.

Kateri, my podcast co-host and ministry co-directer for Arise, Beloved, had no idea that her boyfriend had reached out to me and that we were secretly planning this together. Kateri and I actually had a ministry meeting Saturday morning just hours before the proposal was going to happen. This meant I had to answer rather vaguely when Kateri asked me what my plans were for the rest of the day.

Right after my meeting with Kateri, I drove down to meet Patrick at the proposal location in the small town of Wellsburg WV. Patrick had chosen this location because it was the spot of many dates and special moments in their relationship. The original “Little Woman” movie is also very special to Kateir and Patrick, so Patrick handmade a replica of the mailbox from the movie for Kateri. Patrick and I picked out a hiding place for it along the street where he was going to propose and then later in the day I set it up right before the proposal took place.

I don’t really need to say much else because these pictures speak for themselves. So I’ll just end with this, Kateri and Patrick, I am so happy for you guys and so grateful I was there to capture this incredibly special moment in your life.

Also, if anyone else want me to photograph their proposal – my answer is HECK YES.
