Picture a gorgeous bride and groom under sprawling mossy oak trees, surrounded by their best friends (the boys looking dashing in their navy suits and floral ties and the girls looking like models in their satin champagne dresses), dancing to the distant jazz music and laughing despite the humid southern heat and you’ve got a snapshot of Kateri and Patrick’s New Orleans wedding.

Add in a gorgeous historic church, and epic reception at the Fleur De Lis Event Center (complete with an awesome Second Line as the grand finale) and you’ve created the recipe for the perfect NOLA wedding.

Kateri and Patrick’s love story is one that God has intricately woven together and their wedding day was so much more than all the pretty details and classic NOLA things (as fun as they all were). Their wedding was a culmination of so many answered prayers, hopes, and dreams and it was an honor to witness these two souls profess their love to one another and become husband and wife. I have been friends with Kateri since college and Kateri is now my co-director and podcast co-host for Arise, Beloved and it has been such a joy to grow in deeper friendship with her and Patrick over the past year. It has also been so beautiful to watch their story unfold and to watch how they have continued to trust and surrender all to God throughout their whole relationship. I have been eagerly awaiting their wedding day ever since photographing their proposal last fall and I am so glad I was able to be there as their friend and photographer.
