I have been so excited to share this wedding with you all! From beginning to end this was a magical winter wedding. I’ve known Taylor since college (we were household sisters together at Franciscan University). When Taylor got engaged last summer, I was so honored when she reached out and asked if I would be available to photograph her wedding. It was such a joy to finally see her as a bride. And Vaughan is an incredible man. You will only need to see a few photos to tell just how much he loves his bride. All throughout their Mass, he kept sneaking glances at her, unable to hide his joy.
A few of my favorite moments of the day (in no particular order):
Taylor and Vaughan had been praying for snow for their wedding and while they didn’t get it outside, Taylor’s family surprised them with a snow machine during their first dance – and it was as epic as it sounds!
The day started in Taylor’s grandparent’s house and so she shared a first look with her bridesmaids, her dad and her grandfather. All three first looks produced tears from just about everybody I think. You could tell how much love and joy this family shares from the beginning to the end of the day.
During the reception, Taylor surprised Vaughan by singing a song she wrote for him. Taylor is a super talented musician and songwriter and she said that she had made a promise to herself to never write a song about a boy until it was about her husband. This was one of the most beautiful moments of the entire day and the only time Vaughan teared up all day.
The portraits!! It was bitterly cold but Taylor and Vaughan chose to do their portraits on the steps of the Cleveland Art Museum and they (and their wedding party) were rockstars. This location was perfect and I love, love, love how all their portraits turned out.
There are so many other amazing moments that happened throughout this wedding, but I’m going to let the photos tell the rest of the story (they do a better job than my words anyway haha).
Taylor and Vaughan, thank you so much for entrusting me with the job of documenting your wedding day!
Xoxo,
Mary Kate
