On a gorgeous Saturday at the end of May, Vince & Nikki became husband and wife. Their wedding day was a beautiful reflection of their love for one another, for God, and for their families and friends. Both of them exude kindness and generosity and it’s hard not to smile when you are around them.
There are so many things I could say about them and their wedding, but I have to share one of the most beautiful parts of their story (at least to me) which is how the Lord used the hardships of 2020 to bring both of them into the Catholic Church. Through the help of his best friend and his wife, Vince rediscovered and fell in love with his childhood faith, and Nikki not only supported him throughout his faith journey (despite any prior exposure to the faith) but she also came to fall in love with Catholicism herself. Two years ago, Vince was fully initiated into the Catholic Church through the Sacrament of Confirmation with his best friend as his sponsor who then got to stand by his side on his wedding day as his best man. And last year at Easter, Nikki entered the Church with Vince by her side as her sponsor as she received all her first sacraments. On their wedding day, it was SO beautiful to see their joy and peace as they entered into the Sacrament of Marriage fully understanding the depth and beauty of what was happening and fully ready to lay down their lives for each other.
The rest of their day was also joyous and peaceful. Even during the only stressful part (having to change photo locations at the last minute because there was a giant festival happening at the original park we were going to use) they remained calm and happy and honestly, I love how their photos turned out at the park we ended up going to. Their reception was filled with all the best things: good food, good music, and lots of laughter & dancing, and of course lots of touches of purple! And I promise you are going to want to scroll alllll the way to the bottom because their sunset photos are so dreamy!
Vince & Nikki, it was truly a JOY to get to know you both and photograph your wedding!
Xoxo,
Mary Kate
