“To Heaven we climb.” These were the words that Annie ended her wedding letter to Ryan with and these four words completely encapsulate these two and their desire for their marriage and the life they intend to build together.
Annie & Ryan’s sage and navy wedding at The Corner House in southern Indiana was beautiful from start to finish. The Corner House is a delightful barn venue surrounded by sweeping fields and towering trees. Annie and her girls got ready in the farmhouse turned bed and breakfast on the property and then Annie & Ryan shared the sweetest First Look right outside the front porch.
Despite the heat and a large number of sweat bees, their wedding party were champs throughout their photos and the pops of blue and coral combined with the sage dresses and navy suits created a stunning wedding party look.
From there we headed across state lines into Kentucky to St Stephen’s Cathedral for a truly heavenly wedding Mass. Right before Mass started, Annie donned her grandmother’s wedding veil from 60-some years ago. Surrounded by their family and friends, Annie and Ryan said their vows and promised to lay down their lives for one another.
After Mass, Annie & Ryan and their entire wedding party headed to the farm of close family friends to take a hayride to their reception right around the corner. This was such a fun alternative to a party bus and they were all having a blast taking this decked-out hayride through the country backroads to the Corner House. Their guests had no idea they would be arriving on the back of a tractor, so it was a hilarious and fun surprise entrance!
Their reception was a whirlwind of good barbecue, dancing, heartwarming (and emotional) toasts, and lots of laughter. One of the main highlights of the day for me was their sunset photos. Perhaps it was the long fields surrounding us, but the light was unlike anything I’ve quite seen before. It was absolutely ideal and gave us the most perfect golden hour glow. I’m pretty sure their sunset portraits are some of my favorites ever.
Annie and Ryan, it was a JOY to photograph your wedding!
Xoxo,
Mary Kate
