When Aubrey first inquired with me, she shared her and PJ’s vision for their wedding day: “we hope it’s a day filled with immense gratitude to God, a simple joyful day focused on being present and having the MOST fun with our loved ones!” I can safely say that their wedding day fulfilled that vision and was easily one of the most fun and joyful ones of the year!
Aubrey & PJ are both super intentional and thoughtful people and this was reflected in every decision of their day. They were married at St. James Catholic Church – the very same church where Aubrey’s parents had exchanged their vows years ago. And their wedding date, June 8th, was not only the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary but also PJ’s parent’s 39th wedding anniversary. As a tribute to his parent’s anniversary, they surprised them during the reception by having the DJ play his parent’s first dance song. How sweet is that?
I’ve said this before but it merits being repeated, weddings that have a ton of kids at them are SO fun and this one was no exception! There was a whole slew of kiddos having the absolute best time during cocktail hour and the reception. Their reception was held at the Duquesne Power Center on Duquesne University in downtown Pittsburgh. One of the best features of their venue was the balcony offering stunning sunset views over the city. Guests enjoyed a break from the music (and a cigar or two) out on the balcony and it also provided the perfect spot for some sunset photos of Aubrey and PJ!
Aubrey and PJ, your wedding day was wonderful in every way and I hope you love looking through these photos!
Xoxo,
Mary Kate
