Many years ago, as a sophomore RA at Towson University, Scott was assisting the brand new freshman move into the dorms. A young beautiful blond haired girl poked her head into the RA office and asked for help lofting her bed. Little did Scott know that his future wife had just walked into his life.
Fast forward several years and on January 1st, 2016 Scott asked Brooke to officially be his girlfriend. Another two years passed and it was time for Scott to plan the perfect proposal. Shortly before Christmas, he arranged for a romantic carriage ride in downtown Frederick to take them to the gazebo in Baker’s Park and there he asked Brooke to be his wife. When they were telling me this story during their engagement session, Brooke told me that she had dreamed that Scott would propose in a gazebo after a carriage ride but had never told him about her dream proposal and yet he did exactly that.
I had never been to Union Mills Homestead in Westminster, MD, but it was the perfect location for their engagement session! When we arrived there was a wedding happing behind the main historic house but there was plenty of space for us to discreetly take their photos. (Fun fact: the wedding was a Star Wars/Harry Potter wedding and all the guests and the entire wedding party were dressed in full costume).
Brooke and Scott were pros at their engagement session. Within 10-15 minutes they had completely relaxed and started laughing and chatting away. I loved getting to watch these two interact because they are so supportive of each other and so sweet to each other. It was so great to get to know them and after we finished up their session, we stood by our cars chatting about their wedding, faith, and just life in general for a solid twenty minutes. It was so natural and easy to connect with these two and I am looking forward to their wedding in 2020!
