Cassandra and Michael’s wedding day was filled with love, joy, beauty, and rain…lots and lots of rain. After an absolutely beautiful nuptial Mass, we managed to get the bridal party outside for two quick portraits before the darkening clouds were upon us and the skies opened up and released the rain which ended up trapping us inside the Church for a solid half hour. Since outdoor portraits were out of the question in the torrential downpour, we ended up using elements of the gorgeous Church and a small covered porch to capture some intimate portraits. Some of these portraits have turned into my favorites simply because of the pure joy and emotion between these two newlyweds. Plus, the rain simply added character to this wedding day and provided several memorable stories that Cassandra and Michael will be able to pass down to their children. Once the rain slowed down a bit, we raced out of cover and climbed into the car to head to the hotel for a few more indoor portraits before heading to the reception in a breathtaking historic building in downtown Roanoke.
