Kayla + Justin’s wedding in September was such a special day for a few reasons! One, I photographed Kayla’s sister’s wedding last September and it’s always such an honor and so fun when I’m invited back to document another wedding in the same family! Another thing that made this wedding unique was that it was the first wedding I’ve photographed where the groom wore a traditional kilt and Justin looked amazing! Kayla’s fairytale dress complimented Justin perfectly and they truly looked like something out of a storybook.

Their Nuptial Mass took place at St. Vincent Basilica in Latrobe, PA. This church is breathtaking and filled with the most beautiful natural light and it made for some truly gorgeous photos! Kayla & Justin both know a lot of priests in the greater Pittsburgh area and of course, that meant they had a little army of clergy that concelebrated their Mass. Their group of priests included some of my personal favorites in this area as well (including the pastor of my parish here in Steubenville which was yet another thing that made this day special for me).

Following their Mass, we headed out into the country a bit more to Green Gables Restaurant which provided the perfect backdrop for Kayla & Justin’s fairytale wedding reception. I really felt like I had stepped right into an enchanted woodland when I walked into Green Gables. I usually use a lot of flash during receptions but I kept mine off until later in the evening because I wanted to capture the magical feel the twinkle lights and many many candles created. Near the night’s end, we snuck out to the backyard to take a few final nighttime portraits under a solo tree outlined with twinkle lights.
