This wedding was a wonderful way to kick of my last month of 2021 weddings! Marty and Shane were married in Cleveland GA on a sunny and 70degree day. Coming from Ohio, this weather was amazing for a December wedding. The leaves were gone, but we still had a magical time for their first look and portraits thanks to the sun, the high grass, and the lingering remnants of fall that filled the landscape.

Marty and Shane are such a sweet couple and it was crazy that we were meeting for the first time on their wedding day. Usually, I have met my couples at their engagement session or on a zoom call, but for Marty and Shane, we weren’t able to make either of those happen so their wedding day was our first real interaction together. But you would never have known that, in fact, my amazing second photographer, Kelsey, asked me at some point in the day how long I had known Marty and Shane and she was shocked to hear I had just met them that day. Marty is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet (talk about a true southern lady) and she has a gift at instantly making everyone feel welcomed and seen. It didn’t take long for us to feel like we had known each other much longer than we really had. And both of them were a joy to work with.

Their wedding day started at Yonah Mountains Vineyard where Marty and Shane were each getting ready with their wedding party. After a peaceful and joyful morning, it was time for their First Look. Marty had suggested a meadow down the hill from the main building and it was the perfect spot. After finishing up their first look we rejoined their friends for their wedding party portraits which were a blast (you can tell from the photos how fun of a group they all were!)

From there it was time to get these two married! Their wedding took place at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church a short drive away from the venue. Following their beautiful ceremony, we went back to Yonah for some more “Just Married” portraits and then it was time to dance!

Some of my personal highlights of the day were when Marty had her first look with her sweet father, the golden hour “Just Married” portraits (good luck picking a favorite haha), and the packed dance floor!
