Patricia and Mike were married last Saturday on a GLORIOUS fall day. It was literally the perfect September wedding – mid 60s and sunny with a gentle breeze that did wonders with Patricia’s veil.

Patricia is one of my household sisters from my time at FUS and it was a joy to see her again and to see several dear friends as guests. I first met Mike last February when shot their engagement session in Pittsburgh. It was clear to me then and even clearer this past Saturday, that their love is true and rich. I commented in their engagement session post about how they both have such a joyful and go-with-the-flow outlook towards life and I had no idea then that these two qualities would be essential to handling all the difficulties that covid would create for their wedding.

However, through all the changes and stress leading up to their day, these two kept their eyes fixed on Christ and the Sacrament of Marriage remained at the focal point of every decision they made.

They decided to have a first look in the grotto chapel underneath the main church and it was such a beautiful moment to witness. Standing underneath a striking crucifix, they clasped their rosaries and prayed together one last time before becoming husband and wife. A few minutes later, Patricia headed upstairs where her household sisters prayed over her, rejoicing and praising God for Patricia’s heart and love and for bringing Mike into her life.

Their wedding ceremony was a beautiful Mass filled with a spirit of immense joy and gratitude that this day had finally come. Following the ceremony, we headed to a nearby park for pictures and then later that evening we celebrated their marriage at the LeMont Restaurant which is situated high above the city of Pittsburgh with gorgeous panoramic views of the city.
