About a month ago I was able to meet Lauren and Cody in downtown Pittsburgh for their engagement session. As I drove to our meeting spot, the formerly sunny skies turned dark and the heavens opened into a torrential downpour. According to the radar this sudden summer storm was supposed to pass as quickly as it came in and thankfully it did. But it was certainly an exciting way to start our session!
I absolutely loved how Lauren and Cody incorporated spots around Pittsburgh that hold significance for their story. We started off at the Shrine of St. Stanislaus in the Strip District. This Church is where Lauren & Cody will be married next February but it also is the very place they met in March of 2019.
Both Lauren and Cody were headed to Adoration at St. Stanislaus and happened to walk up to the door at the same time. Cody held the door open for this beautiful woman he didn’t know only to discover to his great surprise that she went in and sat down next to the same mutual friend he had planned to sit with. They started talking after Adoration and went on their first date shortly after. So it was only fitting to start their session off at the door where they first met and in the pew where they first sat together.
Over the next year and a half their relationship grew and strengthened and it is so beautiful to see how God chose to weave their lives together and bring them together.
I had a wonderful time walking around Pittsburgh with them (some of the other location highlights include the grotto where they plan to have their first look and the Pennsylvania where their reception will be held) and I can’t wait to celebrate with them at their wedding next February!
