I’ve had an ice cream maker for about a year and a half now but I’ve only used it a few times. It’s too big and bulky to bring to school and I spent most of last summer in Ecuador, so there haven’t been that many opportunities to use it. However, I brought it to the beach last summer and decided to bring it again this summer. I will be blogging about our trip to the beach, but as I’m still getting through those pictures I decided to blog about the most important part, the ice cream first!

I made three different types of ice cream which I found on pinterest (you can follow my ice cream board if you want!) and each one was a huge success. First I made chocolate ice cream following this recipe  and I added chopped oreos right before putting the ice cream in the freezer because chocolate and oreos happens to be one of the best flavor combos ever.

I then followed this recipe for amazingly delicious (and super easy) coffee ice cream! I added semi-sweet chocolate chunks for an extra dose of goodness. 🙂

The third type of ice cream I made was mint chocolate chip. I followed this recipe, however I’m still on the hunt for a slightly better mint chocolate chip recipe, because this one is good, but not incredible. (And I’m convinced there is probably a better recipe floating around somewhere).

Since I’ll be home all summer this year my ice cream maker is going to be put to much more use over the next two months! I have a lengthly list of ice cream, frozen yogurt, and sherbet recipes that I want to try!! Comment with your favorite homemade recipe if you have one. 🙂
