This past Saturday was a BEAUTIFUL wedding! And an extra special one because it was Deirdre’s younger sister’s wedding! I’ve known Clare for 8 years now thanks to my friendship with Deirdre and it was so wonderful to see her finally marry the man of her dreams! Patrick makes Clare so incredibly happy and she is 100% herself with him (and vice versa) which is really just the best thing to witness.
Clare and Patrick actually went to high school together and even went to a Sadie Hawkins dance together but never dated each other. Years later they reconnected and realized that there was something really special between them and now they are officially husband and wife!
The wedding day started off at the Ironworks Hotel in Beloit, WI with Clare and her ladies. It was such a fun getting ready space with tons of natural light and dark wood accents that made for really gorgeous photos! I started off with the details and something I really love about both Clare and Patrick is how much value they place in the sentimental. For instance, Clare decided to wear her great-grandmother’s ring as well as her mother-in-law’s necklace as her something borrowed (and blue), and Patrick’s wedding ring was made out of rocks from their first date & proposal locations. I mean how unique and special is that?
Once we arrived at the church, Clare had a first look with her dad and her three brothers. I’m always a fan of daddy/daughter first looks and I have to say, including her brothers in the first look was SUCH a special moment. After seeing her dad and brothers, Clare and Patrick read letters to each other behind a pillar and then it was finally time for the ceremony! Clare’s older brother Sean played double duty as groomsman and cantor for the ceremony and he did such a beautiful job with the music. Clare and Patrick couldn’t stop beaming at each other throughout the whole Mass and it was the cutest thing!
The second half of the day all took place at their venue, the gorgeous DC Estate Winery. From their vineyard golden hour portraits (that I’m low-key very obsessed with) to their fun wedding party, the emotional speeches, and the epic dance floor, it was one heck of a party!
Clare and Patrick, it was such an honor to photograph your wedding!
Xoxo,
Mary Kate
