Hannah & Bruce || Postlewait’s Country Wedding in Canby, OR

Weddings

At the beginning of August, I flew across the country for Hannah & Bruce’s Oregon wedding. I had been looking forward to this wedding for months, as it was my first time visiting this gorgeous state. I could tell from our phone calls that these two were just some of the kindest & most genuine people and I was excited to finally meet them! We actually met up a few days before their wedding for a coastal engagement session which I plan to share soon (because the photos are a dream)! It was so fun to meet them earlier in the week and spend the evening laughing and talking while I photographed them along the spectacular coast. It meant that by the time Saturday came around, it felt like going to a friend’s wedding and I was instantly welcomed by all the family and friends as well.

I usually try and find a local second photographer when I’m flying for a wedding and the lovely, Adina, of Adina Caz Photography assisted me with this one and she was such a help and joy to work with! Hannah & Bruce also flew in Grant from Fitzgerald Films for their wedding because it was important to them to hire both a Catholic photographer and a Catholic videographer. We made a great team and as always, it is such a wonderful experience working with fellow Catholic vendors!

Hannah & Bruce’s wedding was filled with so much childlike joy and wonder – partially because of the large amount of rambunctious and adorable children that were there (we jokingly started referring to Hannah as the Pied Piper because everywhere she went, all day long, children followed her, clamoring for her attention. All of Bruce’s many nieces and nephews absolutely adore both of them and soak up the attention that the two of them so lovingly bestow on all of them.) But the joy of the day came even more from the deep love they share for their faith and family. They had each prayed and waited and longed for this day for so long and it was a fulfillment of so many of God’s promises and such clear testimony to the abundant love of the Father.

As dusk descended over the open-air dance floor, and the sky changed from hues of pink and purple to a deep majestic blue before the stars came out, we snuck out with Hannah & Bruce to a little corner of the property where twinkle lights and chandeliers hung among the trees making the perfect fairytale setting. The weather was perfect, a slight breeze brushed over us, and it was one of those moments that was impossible to not smile and feel the utter delight of God.

Hannah & Bruce, it has been so wonderful getting to know you both and I hope you love looking through this little recap of your wedding!

Xoxo,
Mary Kate
