Hannah and Stephen’s downtown Pittsburgh wedding was the perfect end to my 2022 wedding season!
I’ve actually known Hannah since college as we both went to Franciscan University and were household sisters (a little similar to sorority sisters). Stephen is so good to Hannah and it has been a joy to get to know him and them as a couple! Time and time again, I am amazed by how perfectly God creates two people for each other and how evident His hand is in every one of these love stories.
We started the day off at the Drury Plaza Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh where Deirdre photographed the guys on the ground level and I photographed the girls on the rooftop patio which made for some pretty cool photos.
After we finished at the hotel, it was time for Hannah and Stephen’s first look across the street at their venue, The Pennsylvanian. The weather was actually really beautiful and not too cold for a December wedding. The Pennsylvanian makes for such a stunning and versatile location for photos and I am obsessed with how they turned out!
Once we were done with Hannah and Stephen’s photos, their wedding party and parents joined us at the Pennsylvanian for more photos. Hannah and Stephen opted to do all the photos before their wedding ceremony since their ceremony was starting 4pm in December, which meant it was going to be dark by the time we left the church. (Side note: if you are planning a late fall or winter wedding, this is a super important thing to be aware of when planning your timeline).
Hannah and Stephen were married at St. Paul’s Cathedral which is a stunning church in the heart of Pittsburgh. Despite living close to Pittsburgh for the past two years (and all four years of college), I had never actually been to the Cathedral before this wedding. It is one of those churches that make you just gaze up at everything in awe of the beauty surrounding you. Pittsburgh has such a large amount of unique historic Catholic churches (and I’ve been so lucky to photograph weddings in a number of them) and this one was no exception.
Once Hannah and Stephen were officially married, it was time to head back to The Pennsylvanian for the party! One of the things I loved about their reception was how Hannah and Stephen included their baby girl in their first dance. It was such a sweet moment!
Hannah and Stephen, it was such a joy to photograph your wedding and finally get to meet your precious little one!
A huge thank you to all the other vendors who came together to make this day possible!
