Sam & Joe’s DC wedding was the definition of a classy downtown affair. I first met Sam & Joe at their engagement session last Fall and we had fun walking around Alexandria and chatting about life while I took their photos. They both are such kind and intentional people and their personalities complement one another perfectly; it is so evident that God designed them for one another!
Their Nuptial Mass was at the gorgeous historic Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington DC. This was my first time in this church and I fell in love immediately. The rich wood, the candles down the center aisle, the warm golden color, all the intricate details and the stunning stained glass all make for one seriously beautiful church.
Once Sam & Joe were officially husband and wife, we drove the short distance to their reception venue, St. Francis Hall. I actually photographed a wedding here a few years ago and it is definitely a favorite venue of mine. Not only is the reception space gorgeous and filled with so many twinkle lights, arches, and other unique details (not to mention amazing natural light) but you also get to use the Monastery Gardens for all the photos which is an absolutely gorgeous hidden gem in the middle of the city.
Sam & Joe, it has been such a joy to get to know you both and it was an honor to photograph your wedding!!
Xoxo,
Mary Kate
