Near the end of October, I found myself in Michigan for my very first Michigan wedding. The colors were at peak beauty, the sun was shining, and the day was overall quite glorious.
Sarah and Jacob actually met at a wedding a few years ago and their love story has God’s hand written all over it. I didn’t do an engagement session with these two so I was meeting them for the first time on their wedding day but we instantly felt like friends. Sarah and Jacob are easygoing, calm, and gentle individuals who together make an absolutely wonderful couple, deeply in love with their faith and each other.
Their wedding day started off at Sarah’s family’s house where she got ready. Something beautiful about their wedding details is that the used the words of the Nuptial Blessing as the envelope liner for their invitations. I’ve never seen that done before and I love how intentional it was!
They were married at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Plymouth, MI. This church had wonderful natural light and the various titles of Our Blessed Mother painted around the Church. I had fun capturing various titles at different points that were especially poignant to their wedding such as “Cause of Our Joy”.
We took their portraits on the grounds of the church among the stunning fall foliage that graced the grounds. I am seriously so happy with how their portraits turned out – straight out of a fall romance movie in my opinion!
Sarah and Jacob, it has been such an honor getting to know you both and document your wedding day!
Xoxo,
Mary Kate
