Bakery-Style Chocolate Chip Cookies // Covid Baking

Personal

I have been itching to make Kristin Johns’s “Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies” ever since I saw her youtube video this past January. Since I normally do my best to avoid sugar and unhealthy carbs, I knew I had to wait until a special occasion to make these. Mother’s Day last week provided the perfect opportunity and I jumped at it.

First of all, there are probably a lot of recipes claiming that they are the “perfect” or “best” chocolate chip cookies but I am here to tell you that Kristin Johns is not lying. These really are the very BEST chocolate chip cookies not only that I have ever made, but honestly, that I’ve ever eaten. And that’s really not an exaggeration. You guys know how much I LOVE Chick-fil-a and I am a huge fan of their giant and delicious chocolate chip cookies, but believe it or not, these are slightly better. Seriously. If you don’t believe me, do yourself a favor and make them for yourself.

I mean, just look at these pictures.

Secondly, these were actually pretty easy to make. I followed her recipe exactly and the most time consuming part was chopping up all the chocolate beforehand. But it really makes a huge difference over using traditional chocolate chips. I also made half of the cookies with pecans like the recipe calls for and the other half without (because I knew half of my siblings would not like the nuts) and honestly, it was pretty dang good either way.

So, what are you waiting for? Go watch Kristin Johns’s video and try these for yourself.

(Also, please keep Kristin and her husband, Marcus, in your prayers. They were in a traumatic bicycle accident last week and they are miraculously alive but they are very injured and suffering a lot.)

Xoxo,
Mary Kate
